How do I remove Permanent marker from whiteboard?
Ideally Permanent Markers should be kept well away from Whiteboards, but for those who cannot resist here are a few nifty solutions that we recommend you try;
- Using a quality dry-erase whiteboard marker, carefully trace over each & every "permanent" mark you wish to remove
- Allow to rest for 5 minutes
- Clean with a Micro Fibre Cloth or Eraser then follow with Whiteboard Cleaning Spray
Remember when it comes time to acquire new boards, Porcelain Whiteboards are easier to clean even when mistakes are made.
Other Methods include:
- Use Methylated spirits then polish with a Micro Fibre Cloth. Follow with Whiteboard Cleaner
- Paint Nail Polish remover or Acetone onto stubborn stains and polish with a Micro Fibre Cloth. Follow with Whiteboard Cleaner. This is an extremely powerful solvent so please use this with care.
IMPORTANT: Do not use abrasive cleaners or toothpaste as suggested on some sites.
These will permanently destroy your Whiteboard surface.
